Demand for fun, hands-on STEM enrichment programs has outstripped our resources. During our first two years, we were almost entirely funded by a Kauffman Foundation grant for math and science and by donations from our founders. Since then, LEARN has been largely self-funded, generating income through classes, camps and fundraising events.
Current demand, however, exceeds our capacity in materials, mentors, space and funds. We need to buy more computers, robots and other STEM equipment. We need to find a permanent “home” for our programs. (Right now, we hold classes at local universities, schools and libraries. This is great, but we often need more space than is available.) And, we need supplies for events and programs.
